Glendevon Bridge Repair and Strengthening Works

Project Overview

Major structural repairs were undertaken to a previously collapsed bridge, including in-water excavations to facilitate the construction of new reinforced concrete abutments. A structural steel culvert was installed within the constraints of the existing arch, grouted into position and the spandrel and parapet walls were rebuilt around the culvert using an in-water scaffold system.

Additional works included the installation of Redi-Rock blocks to form a training wall within the watercourse. Following completion of the structural works, the carriageway was fully reconstructed to highway specification.
