JML SIPs Apprentice Dave Cooper Wins Apprentice of the Year at The Courier Business Awards 2026

We’re absolutely delighted that JML SIPs apprentice Dave Cooper has been crowned Apprentice of the Year at The Courier Business Awards 2026!

The awards took place on Friday 30 October at the Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee, celebrating the achievements of businesses and individuals from across the region.

It’s been a fantastic year for Dave, who was also named UHI Perth Apprentice of the Year 2025/26, alongside receiving the WS Wood machinery Carpentry & Joinery Best Apprentice Prize earlier this year. Dave’s latest award is another well-deserved recognition of his hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to developing his skills. He’s a real credit to himself and the JML SIPs team, and we couldn’t be prouder of him!

At JML SIPs, we’re passionate about supporting apprenticeships and developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople. As a Perthshire-based specialist in Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and energy-efficient timber construction, we know how important it is to invest in our people and give them opportunities to learn and progress.

It was also a great evening for JML Group, who were finalists in the Family Business of the Year category.

A huge thank you to The Courier and everyone involved in organising such a fantastic evening.
