Project overview

JML Contracts carried out the design, supply and installation of the river bank repairs on the Waters of Feugh, near Banchory. The river ran very full in spate, so the design had to be fit for purpose but also meet SEPA’s requirements for the fresh water mussels which are present on this stretch of the river.

Using locally sourced boulders and a Huesker, grid wrapped, green face system, the works were completed in the summer months when waters were low and outwith spawning season. The face was then planted with willow stakes to give the bank added protection for flooding risks during the winter months.
