Bridge of Dun Restoration Completed – Sept 2025

Last week, we marked the completion of our Bridge of Dun restoration project with a private JML Contracts opening ceremony – ahead of the bridge reopening fully to the public. This was an extremely complex and challenging job for us on an amazing A-listed multi-arch masonry bridge near Montrose, badly damaged by Storm Babet and closed for almost two years.

We celebrated the team’s outstanding efforts with:

• A presentation of engraved mason’s hammers to our three main masons – Jim, Alex, and Grzegorz
• A toast to the crew
• Jamie L piping the JML van convoy across the bridge for the very first time
• Ribbon cut by John’s mother – a special moment, as John’s late father had also worked on the bridge 20 years ago with some of the same employees today – Jim, Alex & Grzegorz!
• A traditional ‘Trades Photograph’ in front of the bridge (with everyone instructed to look stern, as tradition demands!)

It was a fantastic afternoon (the weather even played ball!), and a proud milestone for everyone at JML Contracts. Huge thanks to our team, the community, and partners including Angus Council for their support.

Well done to all involved – we know the locals will be glad to get their bridge back!
