JML Contracts sponsors Perth Phoenix U-16 girls on successful Spanish tour

Scotland’s basketball stars of the future have returned victorious from their trip to Barcelona, having won all their matches against local teams.  During their trip, which was sponsored by JML Contracts, the Perth Phoenix under-16 girls team also had the chance to develop their coaching skills by working with younger players at a local primary school.

The trip was planned in celebration of the team’s outstanding success over the last two basketball seasons.  Thanks to an almost unbeaten record throughout this season, they have gone on to win the league in their first season playing at this level.  A number of the U16 girls team also represent Scotland at international level.

John Langley, director at JML Contracts said: “We were delighted to be able to support the Perth Phoenix girls team on this once in a lifetime trip.  It’s great to see more young people having the opportunity to get involved in sports across Scotland and being encouraged to achieve their sporting potential.

Head coach at Perth Phoenix, Russel Kesson, said: “We were delighted to have the chance to take the team to Barcelona to play against local teams this Easter.  Basketball is one of the main sports in Spain, so for our girls to go out there and win every game was an incredible feat and gave the players the chance to hone their skills even further”.

“We really appreciate JML Contracts’ contribution to what really was the perfect way to round off an incredible season”.
